The Dean and Barbara White Family Foundation supports projects that promote new economic development, demonstrate a sustained positive impact, and benefit community foundations, educational institutions, civic entities, local government, and non-profit organizations through matching gifts.

DEAN AND BARBARA WHITE COMMUNITY CENTER

The Dean and Barbara White Community Center is a 95,000-sq ft facility totaling $24 million. The Foundation gave a $10 million donation, which was one the largest philanthropic gifts in Lake County’s history.

SOUTHLAKE YMCA

The Dean and Barbara White Southlake YMCA is a 76,000-sq ft community anchor building expansion and remodel project totaling $34 million.

HAMMOND DESTINATION YMCA

Crossroads YMCA, in collaboration with the City of Hammond and Mayor Thomas M. McDermott, Jr., is breaking ground on a transformative $70 million Hammond Destination YMCA project. This expansive facility, three times larger than the current YMCA in Hammond, will serve as a cornerstone attraction, offering state-of-the-art amenities and a diverse range of programs, ultimately benefiting up to 50,000 residents annually.

TOLLESTON OPPORTUNITY HUB

A grand vision to create a wellness campus is in full motion. A combined effort among the White Family Foundation, Boys and Girls Club of Greater Northwest Indiana, Methodist Hospitals, Crossroads YMCA, and the City of Gary, this $30 million project will be located at the Gary Branch of the Boys and Girls Club.
